Instead of posting links to Making Do Ideas on this blog now (I'll just post my own projects here though they are few and far between now), I'm now posting them on my Pinterest Board named Making Do Stuff.

Making Produce Last Longer - Crisper Humidity Controls

I have a two door crisper in my refrigerator that has knobs to control humidity.

So, I set out to find what should go where so my produce will last longer.

High Humidity:
beans
leafy veggies
asparagus
celery
cucumber
broccoli
green onions
berries
pears
mushrooms (should be stored in a brown paper sack)

Low Humidity:
melons
tomatoes
citrus
garlic
onions
gourds

Then to remind me, I wrote them on sticky labels and attached them to the drawers, so I and the rest of the household will put the stuff in the appropriate drawers.

This is one of those things that makes me slap my forehead and say "why didn't I think of that!?!?!"

Thanks for sharing!
