I tried to make letters out of dollar store foam sheets, but they are so thin that she would rip or fold them so badly that they wouldn't stick anymore. So don't waste your money on trying to make your own with thin foam shapes.
Instead of posting links to Making Do Ideas on this blog now (I'll just post my own projects here though they are few and far between now), I'm now posting them on my Pinterest Board named Making Do Stuff.
You do not have to have a Pinterest account to see it.

Foam Puzzle Bathtub Fun
Some great bath time fun can be had by using the foam pieces from children's foam puzzles. I picked up a Walmart sack full of mis-matched foam puzzle pieces at a yard sale for a quarter because of all the letters in it (my kiddo loves letters) They stick great on the shower walls during bath time.
